COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

The Community Engagement team is the creative engine behind every DoGood service project. This team is the one imagining what’s possible, building partnerships, and bringing projects to life from the ground up.

The Community Engagement team scouts out local nonprofits and community organizations in each host city, reaching out to see how fencers can show up and help. Once a connection is made, they dive into the details - figuring out what kind of volunteer project makes the most impact and how we can make it happen.

They also work with USA Fencing to organize fencing demonstrations as part of select projects, coordinating with local clubs to help bring fencing to new audiences.

And when a fencer already has their own volunteer initiative? This role helps support and spotlight those efforts too, turning individual service into shared impact.

It’s a role that takes creativity, communication, and a big-picture mindset - and it’s at the core of what makes DoGood… do good.

To be successful in this role, you must like problem solving and be able to think creatively and outside-of-the-box! Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying appropriate local organizations to partner with and making first contact with them

  • Developing volunteer projects, including all details of the projects

  • Working with USA Fencing to organize fencing demonstrations, which includes identifying local clubs and reaching out to them to lead the fencing demonstrations, as well as identifying and reaching out to local youth organizations to invite

  • Identify fencer-led volunteer initiatives and develop partnerships with them

  • Identifying opportunities to organize volunteer projects that align with DoGood’s mission
